Abstract

Fatigue is a physiological condition that arises from prolonged physical or mental activity and leads to a
temporary decline in performance capacity. During fatigue, the body undergoes notable biochemical changes that reflect
the depletion of energy reserves, accumulation of metabolic by-products, and disruption of homeostasis. Conversely,
the period of rest initiates restorative biochemical processes aimed at replenishing energy stores, eliminating metabolic
waste, and reestablishing internal balance. This article examines the key biochemical mechanisms underlying fatigue and
recovery, focusing on energy metabolism, hormonal regulation, and oxidative balance
